Spinpro geotextile tubes are ideally suited for lime dewatering
Settled lime sludge in the clarifier is wasted as needed to maintain the level of lime sludge in the clarifier. The lime sludge then instead of going to a sump, is transferred to an agitated buffer tank where the lime sludge is kept in suspension until the buffer tank is full. Once the buffer tank hits the high level a positive displacement pump is activated to transfer the lime sludge to the geotextile dewatering tube. When the lime sludge pump is activated it also signals the polymer dosing pump along with the hydration water solenoid. The polymer solution mixes with the lime sludge while it is being transferred to the lime sludge dewatering building. By the time the pumped mixture of lime and polymer reaches the lime sludge dewatering building a strong floc has been formed.
The lime sludge mixture is pumped to one of two geotextile dewatering tubes located in two roll off containers in the lime sludge dewatering building. An ultrasonic level control monitors the geotextile dewatering tubes in the roll off container and switches the lime sludge flow to the other roll off dewatering tube in the other roll off dewatering container when the geotextile dewatering tube is full.
When the lime dewatering is finished in the geotextile dewatering tube the dewatered lime sludge is ready for transportation to the end user for land filling, reuse or land application. The roll off bin containing the dewatering tube can be easily transported and dumped.
