Geotextile Tubes are becoming increasingly popular as a low cost alternative to temporary and contract dewatering as well as permanent installations. Geotextile tube dewatering can be as much as 1/2 the cost of centrifuge dewatering or belt press once you consider mobilization, demobilization and the high cost of power. Geotextile tubes require no power or energy and work on free gravity. The geotextile tube is also a lot faster to get set up and operating for emergency situations. Over time the dewatering tubes can attain a substantially drier cake and the whole bag acts as a filter bag when you are pumping through it producing a solids free effluent.
